Meet Karina

Accredited Financial Counselor Candidate

My mission is to improve your financial well-being by helping you align your money habits with your core values. Building wealth is only part of the equation—true financial health comes from cultivating a positive, intentional relationship with money, no matter your income or background.

I work with people from all religious backgrounds—whether you're currently practicing, questioning, or have stepped away from your faith. Religious teachings and culture often shape our unconscious beliefs about money (also known as “money scripts”), and those messages can linger long after we’ve left a faith community.

With my background and experience, I understand how religious values and cultural expectations can influence your financial decisions. Whether you're navigating the financial norms of your current faith or unpacking the money beliefs you grew up with, I offer compassionate, values-based guidance tailored to your unique story.

What is Financial Counseling?

Financial planners focus on managing investments for long-term goals like retirement. You hand over your money and say, “Take care of this for me, please!” In contrast, financial counselors provide education and emotional support to help you develop responsible financial habits. With a financial counselor, you're not just outsourcing your finances—you’re actively learning how to improve your financial well-being.

As a financial counselor, my goal is to empower you to align your financial decisions with your values. It’s not just about building wealth; it’s about fostering a healthy, confident relationship with money. Do I want you to have substantial savings? Absolutely. But more importantly, I want you to feel in control of your finances and at peace with your financial choices.

Traditional financial literacy classes often fail to inspire real change. Many people feel disconnected, thinking, “This doesn’t apply to me” or “I’ll never be good at managing money.” That’s why I focus on the intersection of psychology and finance—helping you understand the why behind your financial behavior and how to make lasting improvements, no matter your income level.
